From Joe: "On Saturday I competed in the California's Strongest Man competition here in San Diego at the World's Gym. I have to admit, I was pretty nervous since there were only 2 weight classes and I found out that I'd be with the guys 230lbs and under. Especially since I only weigh 195lbs after a large pizza! But like I've come to find over the years, 'It's not the size, speed, or strength of the person that matters, it's the amount of fire and drive they have inside!' Lucky for me that what I lack in the first three I make up for in drive and determination... ...When all was said and done, to my amazement, I finished 3rd place in my division. This really came as a shock to me considering most of my training had been Gut Check style workouts and due to my lack of size comparatively speaking. But like I said before, as long as you never give up and give it your all, you just never know what you might accomplish. This is the Gut Check Fitness philosophy, 'Never, ever, ever give up and always believe in the power and capability of your own body!'" Ready more amazing stuff from Joe?
