1) The Sport of Catch-As-Catch-Can Rising... Not since Sakuraba dominated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu nearly a decade ago have I been this excited for authentic COMPETITIVE catch-as-catch-can grappling.
We are fortunate to have MMA bad-ass Josh Barnett on the big stage winning fights (CONGRATS JOSH!!). We've got Takanori Kuno (Billy Robinson's student from Japan) placing third in his division (92 kg/202.5 lbs) at the World Grappling Games in Switzerland just a month ago...! Then we have the Quebec Toe-Hold Club winning tournaments decisively in north-eastern North America! Here's a note from Scientific Wrestling's Lead Instructor Coach Iatskevich: "Congratulations to Julien Boulianne, Dominic Leclerc and David Mailhout.All three of them competed this weekend and they all won in their respective divisions. Despite the fact that this was a BJJ tournament and couldn't play with their favorite weapons (no heel hooks,neck cranks or pressure points allowed) they all dominated with aggressive stand up and dominant top games on the ground. 4) Scientific Wrestling Website Upgrade!! We are in the middle of a huge re-vamp that is going to be AMAZING. There will be two really big changes: New Member Profile Facebook style - It allows you to post profile information about yourself, submit photos, create mini-blog posts, connect with friends and leave notes for each other. It will make the separate www.ScientificWrestler.com site we use obsolete! Better forums - The new forum layout is modeled after the popular phpBB and vBulletin forum layouts. It allows us to have avatar photos with each post as well as counting the number of forum posts you've made and how long you have been posting. There are options to lock discussion threads or make them 'sticky' so that they remain at the top of the forum. Also, we will be dropping the monthly member option soon. Those of you on the monthly plan will be grandfathered in and can stay on it for as long as you like but we won't be allowing new members like this. Stay tuned...!
